yayyy had cell this evening with them girls (melody, meryl & justine), pastor cuixian & cornelius. i totally forgot that it wont just be the four of us having bible study together anymore so i got a shock when i saw cornelius enter the room. and honestly, i kinda miss the times when its just the four of us. but nevertheless, still enjoyed the whole bible study session. :)
todays study is basically on love. and something interesting to share with y'll:
there are 4 Greek words for love. amazing isnt it? i mean, in English, its just l.o.v.e.
1. Eros (ἔρως érōs) is passionate love, with sensual desire and longing. The Modern Greek word "erotas" means "(romantic) love". However, Eros does not have to be sexual in nature. Eros can be interpreted as a love for someone who you love more than the Philia love of friendship. It can also apply to dating relationships as well as marriage.
2. Philia (φιλία philía) means friendship in modern Greek, a dispassionate virtuous love. It includes loyalty to friends, family, and community, and requires virtue, equality and familiarity.
3. Agapē (ἀγάπη agápē) means "love" in modern day Greek. The term s'agapo means "I love you" in Greek. The word "agapo" is the verb "I love". In Ancient Greek it often refers to a general affection rather than the attraction suggested by "eros"; agape is used in ancient texts to denote feelings for a good meal, one's children, and the feelings for a spouse. It can be described as the feeling of being content or holding one in high regard.
4. Storge (στοργή storgē) means "affection" in modern Greek; it is natural affection, like that felt by parents for offspring. Rarely used in ancient works, and then almost exclusively as a descriptor of relationships within the family.
cool shits. :)
and before i went for bible study, i worked at bakerzin paragon. i prefer the colleagues there, somehow, even though theyre all guys and butches and i was the only girl there today. i dont know, maybe because our age gap is closer so its easier to communicate and you dont feel so outta place. yeah. and i must say the paragon outlet is damned assed crowded. herds of people just keep coming in and going out. its crazy. but time flies really fast, so thats a good thing.
alrights, harry potter & the half-blood prince, here i comeee! :D
its truly amazing how some people can pretend/act as if they have
truckloads of true blue friends when the truth is, they just dont. funny.
Opposing ideas are the ones you should pay attention today -- they enlighten you.
thats quoted from friendster's horoscope. interesting, something worth thinking about.
